Structuring the Education of Students With Autism Spectrum Disorder

Participants will receive an introduction to the characteristics and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders, an overview of the culture of autism and how it impacts the classroom, and a comprehensive explanation of structured teaching methodology including physical environment, individual schedules, one to one instruction, work systems and visual structure.  Utilizing these strategies will increase student learning, communication and socialization, and decrease challenging behaviors.
